Version 2 of my newest fanart. (Made it as a triptych so it doesn’t cut everyone in half.)
I did these as inspiration for the post Reichenbach John/Jim fic I’ve been writing…
About Me:
lyrical_sky is my pseudonym for my Sherlock fandom ficcery and art.
Age: 42
Profession in RL: artist (painter, mixed media artist, fine art photographer, and jewelry designer). Unfortunately, due to a severe decline in health that has resulted in crippling physical disabilities and brain damage, I've had no choice but to retire from making art in the traditional way, but I try my best to make do with creating art on my iPad (I highly recommend Inspire Pro for painters; it's as close to real painting as you can get). My fanart is made using a variety of art/painting apps and layers and layers of filters and treatments. Just to be clear, every piece of fanart I make takes several hours. I would never just run a screencap through a couple of filters and post it. It's extremely frustrating that I have no choice but to use these tools (iPad art/painting apps, Photoshop, etc.), and I wish I had more options, but I don't take unnecessary shortcuts when making digital art. Every piece I've posted consists of hundreds of layers of digital applications plus as much 'hand-painting' with my stylus as possible. I used to be an absolute purist when it came to art, but I have found that creating digital art is just as challenging (and just as rewarding, at least when it comes to creating my original art).
